GRAHAM'S SIX GRAPES
1. Origin & Style
- Douro Valley, Portugal, from the historic port house W. & J. Graham’s.
- Reserve Ruby Port—a non‑vintage fortified wine.
- Signature reserve wine for everyday enjoyment, drawn from the same vineyards used for Graham’s Vintage Ports.
2. Grapes & Composition
- Blend of traditional Douro red varieties (often Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca).
- Fortified during fermentation to preserve natural sweetness and arrest alcohol level.
3. Appearance
- Deep ruby red color typical of youthful ruby Port.
4. Aroma (Nose)
- Rich, seductive perfume of ripe plums, cherries, blackberries, and dark fruit.
- Sometimes hints of dark chocolate and brambly notes.
5. Flavor (Palate)
- Full‑bodied and fruit‑forward with generous flavors of black fruit, cassis, and blackberry.
- Balanced structure with freshness and depth from the Douro terroir.
6. Finish
- Long, lingering finish with persistent dark fruit and gentle tannin support.
7. Alcohol Content
- Typically around 19.5–20% ABV.
8. Mouthfeel
- Medium‑ to full‑bodied with a smooth, plush texture.
9. Serving & Pairing
- Best served slightly chilled (around 12–16 °C).
- Pairs well with dark chocolate, berry desserts, blue cheese, and rich after‑dinner cheeses.
10. Overall Profile
- A classic reserve ruby Port that combines youthful fruit intensity with good structure and lingering sweetness.
- Ideal both as a dessert wine and as a more accessible alternative to Vintage Port.
